Win a Custom Cat® 255 (and Here’s Why We Chose It)
Football season is here, and two very special machines are suited up. As a proud partner of both the Baltimore Ravens and the Washington Commanders, Carter Machinery has decked out two Cat 255 Compact Track Loaders in custom team colors, one for each team.
Now we’re giving them away. One lucky fan will win the custom Ravens 255, and another will win the custom Commanders 255.
Winners will be drawn on February 14, 2027, during The Big Game.
Why We Chose the Cat 255
We could have dressed up any machine, but the 255 is the kind that can change what a small business takes on.
If you’re newer to equipment, a compact track loader (CTL) is a small loader that rides on rubber tracks instead of tires. Tracks let it work in mud, sand and soft ground where wheels would struggle.
With the right attachment, the same machine can grade a driveway, dig post holes, move pallets or push snow. For a business with a handful of machines, that’s a lot of jobs from one purchase. That’s why we picked it: On a real jobsite, plans change, and flexibility is what keeps you working.
Attachments: Your Answer to the Unexpected
Every jobsite has surprises. A stump right where the patio is going. A slab of old concrete under the topsoil. A client who asks, “While you’re here, can you clear that brush?”
Once your machine is on site, you can’t change the machine itself. But you can change what’s on the front of it, and that changes everything. Swap the bucket for a stump grinder, hammer, trencher or brushcutter, and the same 255 takes on a whole new job.
Cat offers more than 20 categories of attachments for the 255, from augers and forks to tillers, mulchers and snow tools. Explore the lineup.
Here’s the part many owners miss: you don’t have to buy every attachment. Renting lets you say yes to new work without tying up cash in tools that sit in the yard between jobs. Rentals come with the hoses and couplers you need, and Cat Rentals will confirm the attachment fits your machine and its hydraulic setup before it goes out. Browse attachment rentals.
The 255 is ready for all of it: Attachments with moving parts run on the machine’s hydraulics. The 255 offers three levels, up to High Flow XPS for the most demanding tools. And a quick coupler makes swaps fast.
Built for the Work
Attachments do the hard work, so the machine behind them has to keep up. The 255 is part of Cat’s Next Gen line, the latest generation of Cat compact track loaders.
The Cat C2.8 turbo engine delivers 13% more torque than the model it replaces, giving it the muscle to run a stump grinder or push into a heavy pile. Redesigned lift arms add lift height and breakout force, which is the strength to pry material loose and raise it. And the standard torsion suspension undercarriage keeps the machine stable and planted on rough ground.
And for all that muscle, it’s still compact. It fits the tight lots, narrow access points and crowded jobsites where bigger machines can’t go. Inside, a roomier cab and an available heated and ventilated seat keep you comfortable through long days, in July and January alike.
